Automotive HVAC Design Engineer

Trans/Air Manufacturing Corporation, a leading supplier of air conditioning products for the bus transportation industry located in Dallastown, PA, has immediate opening for an Automotive HVAC Design Engineer. 

Description:

Primary responsibility is design of climate control systems for school, commercial, and transit buses including: AC coil design, blower / fan specification, capacity calculations, performance testing and troubleshooting (components and systems).
Revise/improve current products via ECN process.

Qualifications:

Requires working knowledge of 3-D modeling, manufacturing process for engineering materials, electric control systems and FEA.

 The ideal candidate will have proven project skills, a BSME / BSMET degree with concentration in air conditioning / heat transfer, strong computer skills including Solid Works, Excel, Word, DAQ software and heat transfer (coil design) software. Position will require occasional domestic travel for application engineering support.

Service Parts Manager

Directs and coordinates Service Parts activities of the company. The Parts Manager is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. Accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, marketing, and advertising.

Description:

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises 4-5 employees in the Service Parts Department.
  • Sales calls to major dealers, OEM’s and fleet customers.
  • Responsible for the operations, personnel, marketing and profitability of the department
  • Observe, encourage and inspire inside parts personnel to secure customer loyalty
  • Forecast sales, gross profits and expenses
  • Follow up with all customer issues or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Develop and execute effective customer relations policies
  • Set part sales goals
  • Implement aggressive marketing plan to increase parts business
  • Coordinates parts cost sheets and forecasts, audits cost management activities on a periodic basis
  • Provide recommendations to other responsible parties on how to improve activities/practices
  • Collect part sales data, analyze same and based on analysis, provide recommendations on continuous improvements in practices, processes, organization, etc.

Other areas of responsibility include help design and maintain on-line website parts ordering system, and update pictures as required, and assist in parts recalls. Key contact on the full application of Service Parts policies within the company.

Qualifications:

 Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications as well as identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Communication skills to effectively communicate with end users, service centers, dealers and OEMs. Proven analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflicts.

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Two to four year college degree preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of automotive parts management experience
  • Previous experience as a Parts/Service Manager and/or Advisor recommended
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to be analytical, problem solve and multi-task
  • Self-motivated enthusiastic presence in a team environment
  • Strong written, communication and computer skills
  • Some travel required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Field Service Tech

 

 

Description:

 Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repairs bus air conditioning systems. Primary area will be the northeast, with occasional travel to other areas of the US & Canada. Train customers on product, troubleshooting and maintenance, as well as some theory. Develop reports in keeping with company reporting guidelines. Assist in office-based duties when not required to be in the field. Answering tech calls when available. Travel required.

Qualifications:

 Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications as well as identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Experience in the repair& troubleshooting of automotive air conditioning equipment. Certification to handle and purchase R134a refrigerant. Communication skills to effectively communicate with end users, service centers, dealers and OEMs. Proven analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot, make decisions, and resolve conflicts between service centers and end users. Good driving record. Computer literacy, esp. with MS Office.
